STUDENT COMMENTS

Graphic Design 2 | 2024
I learned so much this semester and received very thorough and constructive feedback. Tracy is not an "easy grader"—she makes you work and push yourself to do better. She was helpful, understanding, and incredibly knowledgeable about all things graphic design.

Tracy is a fantastic instructor. She goes above and beyond to make sure students learn and grow. She is well organized, goes the extra mile to give detailed and actionable feedback using a rubric when grading assignments. She even looks at our actual design files, which most instructors tend not to do. I am so thankful that I was able to take this course, and I have grown in both skills and confidence by leaps and bounds in her class. She is truly awesome!

I learned so much from this class. The environment was very conducive to working on sometimes difficult and heavy assignments, and this class taught me so much about my work and design in general.

Graphic Design 2 | 2022
Professor Zuniga was so organized and always had any resources someone could need. She had videos on how to use each program and tips on different things, and every class was set up the same and ran according to what project we were doing. She is a really great professor, and I hope to have her for more classes in the future.

Graphic Design 2 | 2021
I have now taken three classes of Tracy’s. I will always seek to take them if I can. They are interesting, fun, and I always walk away having gained knowledge. I really liked the projects in Graphic Design 2. They allowed me to keep pushing and get out of my comfort zone. Tracy is knowledgeable and kind and is always available to help. She’s the best!

Professor Zuniga is awesome!! She is so helpful, understanding, supportive, knowledgeable, and fun! She gives us plenty of time to work on our projects so our portfolios can turn out as good as possible, and she offers one-on-one meetings throughout our projects so we can get personal help. Her lessons are well thought out and class runs very smoothly. She is a great professor and I’d recommend her to anyone taking graphic design 2!

Tracy is the best. I took her class in Spring 20 and will always opt to take her class if I can. She’s kind, thoughtful, and constructive. I really appreciate and respect her feedback. Her projects and materials are very interesting and relevant. She’s the most organized teacher I’ve had which makes things very easy to navigate especially during this online period.

Thank you very much for helping me out throughout this semester, very few classes are actually fun but I can strongly say I really enjoy being in your class. So much so that I am registering for another one of your classes that you are teaching in the fall! so I hope to see you again soon then.

You have been an incredible teacher and influence this semester & I am so thankful to have taken your class and learned from you...All the materials you provided us with were absolutely perfect. The guidelines for each project were explained really clearly, and I really appreciated how we did critique. I also really liked the calendar, it was so easy to stay organized and on schedule. The history of graphic design lectures were really informative and I think (for me at least) it was really helpful to have the students find an image that relates to the section and how that portion of graphic design history was important in the development of future artist’s work. Even the transition to online learning was seamless. All the resources we needed were accessible and being able to communicate with you regularly was really awesome.
I loved your class, it was probably one of the best I have ever taken.

I wanted to tell you that one of my favorite aspects of your class is how much I learned by actually doing projects. After each project is wasn’t just “here’s your grade, on to the next”. I learned so much from the critiques and the wonderful comments on the rubrics.

Thanks, Ms. Zuniga! You’re the best.

This course has allowed me to gain a better understanding of the importance of studying your target market. The amount of research needed to properly advertise to reach the consumer is crucial to the growth of any company. I also learned that I have a new found interest in writing scripts for commercials. Something I never thought I would be interested in dong (sic)until we were assigned the 15-second television ad assignment. The entire time was doing the assignment I wanted to make my ideas come to life. I look at television and radio advertisements very differently now. Almost dissecting every piece of the ad and rating it based on my interest in the product and critiquing certain aspects that I would have changed. Wonderful learning experience. Thank you, Professor!

12/17/2017 Advertising Storyboarding & Scriptwriting | ADVA215 YA
This course was absolutely one of my favorite courses I have taken for advertising. In the beginning, I was not too sure if I would enjoy this course because commercials were not really what I wanted to do in advertising but this course changed my mind. Although I still have a lot of learning to do in the advertising industry, this course gave me a passion for commercials and storyboarding. The improvement I have seen in myself over this course has been encouraging. I have learned how to properly format a storyboard and learned how I can engage the audience by doing a variety of camera angles. This class has also taught me to watch commercials differently, which has been interesting as well.
Thank you so much for being such a great professor!

Well, this is it.
I just want to thank you, Tracy. This class has pushed me into areas that I really needed to work on. You have been right there beside me all throughout the course, giving me creative input and motivation to keep on working. I have been through quite a few online courses and I can honestly say that this course, specifically, was the most personal and well-organized class that I have taken to this point. From the phone call on Day 1 to the instructional videos that you made,  I feel as if I received a truly higher level of education which can be difficult in this online setting. So thank you, the work you have put into my education motivated me to put the same back into this class. I hope you keep on inspiring a new generation of professionals because you are damn good at it.

I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for making this class so enjoyable. I never thought that I would be good at any Adobe application or that I could ever become a designer because I cannot draw a straight line! I'm so thankful for the kind words you wrote in response to my week-6 final discussion post. I honestly cannot thank you enough for the boost of confidence entering this program. This is my first semester here at AI online and it has been an amazing experience.
